Per our policy, sketches of tattoo designs are not sent out ahead of your appointment. Designs are prepared and presented at the time of your appointment and you will have allocated time at the beginning of your session to make any minor adjustments.
Major changes to the originally requested design not appropriately communicated in advance may result in needing to reschedule your appointment, which will forfeit your original deposit and require a new deposit to be rebooked. Changes requested 24 hours or less prior to your appointment will not be accepted.
Do not consume alcohol within 24 hours of your appointment.

Getting your first tattoo is an exciting experience, and proper preparation can help ensure everything goes smoothly. Here are some key tips to get ready for your appointment:
Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water before your appointment. Being well-hydrated helps your skin stay healthy and can make the tattooing process easier. You're welcome to bring a water bottle to your appointment!
Eat a Good Meal: It’s crucial to eat a balanced and filling meal before your appointment. Tattooing can be physically taxing and having proper nutrition helps maintain your energy levels and prevent fainting. We recommend eating a meal rich in protein and complex carbs. If you’re concerned about your energy levels during the session, feel free to bring snacks like energy bars or fruit. Keeping these on hand can help you stay energized throughout the tattooing process.
Get Plenty of Rest: Ensure you’re well-rested before your session. Being tired can make the experience less comfortable.
Avoid Alcohol and Drugs: Refrain from consuming alcohol or recreational drugs at least 24 hours before your appointment. These substances can affect your blood flow and increase bleeding, making the tattoo process more difficult.
Wear Comfortable Clothing: Dress in comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that provides easy access to the area where you’ll be tattooed. For example, if you're getting a tattoo on your arm, wear a short-sleeved shirt.
Avoid Sun Exposure: Refrain from sunbathing or using tanning beds in the days leading up to your appointment. Sunburnt skin can be more sensitive and difficult to work with.
Bring ID and Payment: Remember to bring a valid ID. Please note that we prefer cash for all payments made at our Studio. If you must use your card in-person at our Studio, you will be charged a 3% transaction fee. Our studio does not have an ATM. Checks are not accepted.
Communicate Your Comfort: Let your Artist know if you have any concerns or if something feels uncomfortable during the tattooing process. Your comfort is important to us!
If you have any specific questions or need further advice, don’t hesitate to contact us at hello@finelinecosmetics.com before your appointment. We’re here to help!

Let’s be real—any trauma to the skin will be uncomfortable and that especially applies to tattoos. We use both a topical numbing cream and lidocaine gel to help minimize pain and discomfort for our guests, but pain tolerance tends to vary from person to person.
